“While you were in Afghanistan” is not a topic people have said after spending a year in Afghanistan with the Marine Corp. For some strange reason Claire Clark used that topic into a novel. A bestselling book; might I add for shock value. There are rumors it may be turned into a movie or a TV show on the premium cable channels. I'm starting to get the information from either the internet, family and even reach out to distant friends from Jacksonville, North Carolina. They too were shock about Claire book. Even more strike to find that I had more of an influence on the book.

Claire Clark was a member of my church when I was station in Jacksonville. She would make it a fun fact in interviews the connection between the pastor and me. My mom was headmistress of his Lutheran School in Wisconsin. The pastor would always make a point to tell the church about it every time I'm there. It not just that, I've been label as a likable guy. Forever surrounded by people who want to talk to me or the family. I like to talk to people too. Just barely to Claire Clark. I would say one or two sentences to her. I totally forgot about Claire Clark during my return to North Carolina. Too busy dodging to IEDs, doing logistic strategy to remember names of people belonging to a church I attended in the past. After that year in Afghanistan I came back Prodigal Father Lutheran Church for visit. Just to let them know I was alive. Claire was there in church. Making my appearance known with a point of the finger. As always, we never talked. Her and me were the last ones to see each other before I left the church.
