Beginning my first year of wrestling I was very nervous because I had no experience and I also knew no one besides a few people here and there. It became apparent to me that the key difference between me and those who were better than me was being resilient. Being able to continue practicing even if you are tired, thirsty, bleeding, or injured. As the season progressed I learned how to become resilient and why it's a crucial part of life if I want to achieve my goals. I learned to become resilient through the conditioning I had in practice, but it was a slow process since I despised cardio with a burning passion. Each time we did sprints, stairs, piggyback runs, and did situational wrestling I would be lazy and not give up all my effort. As time went on, I realized that the conditioning was a way to build resilience and it helped me get better at wrestling.

To begin the tournament I had lost my first match which bummed me out for a while, but I proceeded to lose my 2nd match unfortunately. As my 3rd match neared I was feeling nervous thinking about how I was going to lose, but I kept warming up to keep my mind distracted until I had to wrestle. The match before me and I ran up to the mat and checked in, shook the other guys hand and the match began. Seeing my opponent up close made me nervous and the fear of losing for a 3rd time crawled up on me, like the legs of a black widow spider slowly closing in on its prey. In the first period neither of us was dedicated to a move, the tension began to rise still at zero on both sides, the second period is when I began to tie up with him and where I began to sprawl
