A Congressman’s Activities My day as a congressman starts out with me waking up, going over, and reviewing any mail I got from the previous day. Skimming over various kinds of letters, some of them are questions others are people expressing their opinions about various conflicts at the time, occasionally I’ll write up a quick reply to have my assistant send them. After the early morning reading, I approach the door and inquire as to which venue and time I’m set to speak at today, and head off. I’m not much for scripted monologues, so as I approach podium and mic I mentally prepare myself for what issue I need to address and what questions I should expect from the small audience of cameras and people.
