I am petitioning for a reactivation of my BSN application and a reevaluation of my ineligibility as a nursing student candidate. In the last weeks of fall semester 2016, I was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in my chest that required immediate medical attention. In less than a week, I was in the AIS Cancer Center receiving high-dose chemotherapy to combat the fast-growing tumor. Consequently, the fast-moving events happening in my life did not allow me to properly finish homework and final exams in my microbiology course resulting in a failing grade. After a successful medical treatment, I was able to return to Bakersfield College to retake the microbiology course where I am currently excelling at.
