The mutant rises into the night, growing ever so slowly, waiting for it’s final form. Finally it is plucked from it’s home and held by its green skin and thrown in a box with other mutants. They are shipped off to many different places and then they are chosen ever so carefully. The mutant waits and waits and waits and finally it is picked up and carried out. It arrives at its final destination and it is ripped from its green skin and golden flesh is shown. It is...CORN!
Now that story was very dramaticized but it shows how many people feel about genetically modified foods or organisms. Many people feel as if GMOs are harmful, mutated, monsters when really they are just improved plants or animals. They are changing this world and helping the human race one mutant at a time.
One way GMOs help us is that they can end the need for harmful and controversial pesticides. GMOs have been developed so that they naturally repel bugs, diseases, and weeds.
