Persuasive Essay Against Abortion

What is abortion? Abortion is ending of pregnancy by medicine or surgical procedure. Abortion is legal in the United States from 1973. Abortion is one of the most questionable and arguable issues for more than three decades. The reason of that, there are some people fully against it and the others think that women have the right to choose and to do whatever they want with their selves. When it comes to abortion, there are two sides (groups) of people, people who are opposite it or against it and people who defend and are with the abortion procedure. People who are against abortion procedure call their selves Pro-Life group. They are completely against abortion, except in special situations like saving the mothers life. As mentioned before, abortion is ending a human life by medical or surgical procedure. Pro-Life group thinks that since religions valued life and prohibited ending a life in any way. Then, abortion procedure is against what religions taught people. There is a lot of religions prohibited abortion procedure. For instance, Islam teaches that God created life and everything on earth is by God creation. Everyone has a right even the un-born children has right of protection, living, and care. Islam prohibited abortion completely except to save the mothers life during giving the childbirth In AL’ Quran (Islamic holy book). “ Do not kill or take a human life which God has declared to be sacred”(Chapter 6, verse 151). The Catholic Church understands that life is spiritual and sacrosanct. “ The sacred value of human life from its very beginning” Pop John Paul II, 1995, wrote it. The Jewish law stated, “ A descendent of Noah who kills any human being, even a fetus in its mother’s womb, is to be put in death.” There are other religions banned abortion procedure such as: The Orthodox Church, protestant denominations, Buddhism, Hinduism, and atheists and agnostics for life banned abortion procedure because they value life. These religions value life and believe that ending a life in any kind is violation of human rights. Pro-Choice group or people with abortion procedure believe entirely opposite the Pro-Life group. They believe that abortion is not murder at all. “The concept of personhood is different from the concept of human life. Human life occurs at conception, but fertilized eggs used for in vitro fertilization are also human lives and those not implanted are routinely thrown away. Is this murder, and if not, then how is abortion murder?” (Linda Lowen). Pro-Choice group argue about the medical issues showing statistics about the safety of the procedure. They claim that abortion is a safe surgical procedure. The huge amount of women -88%- have an abortion procedure in there first three months of the pregnancy. An abortion procedure have less than 0.5% risk of genuine complexity and doesn’t affect their health o future health complications. Like any other procedure, abortion procedure make the patient stress, yet the American Psychological Association discovered that the stress was greatest previous to an abortion procedure, and that there was no clue of post-abortion disorder. Women have the right whether to give birth or not. Furthermore, they have the right to do whatever they want with their bodies. Pro-Choice group believes in freedom for women.
