The topic of concussions in sports has generated a lot of argument for both the viewpoint of the changes should be made to make sports safer and the opposing viewpoint of the athletes knowing the risks involved in playing sports. I think they should change some safety rules to make sports safer. “It was turf that they rolled out the day before. It was about a quarter of an inch thick and concrete was the only thing below it.” (When Brett Favre Sees Little Kids Playing Football). In some fields the only thing under the turf is concrete and when a player takes a big hit, the only thing between his head and the concrete is the quarter inch of turf which isn’t enough to stop head and body injuries.
“Padding under turf would help 'catastrophe injuries’. It's probably not a bad idea to protect ligament, hips, backs, and muscles.” (When Brett Favre Sees Little Kids Playing Football). If the league would just put an inch or two of padding above the concrete and under the turf it's players wouldn't get hurt as easily and it would make the sport safer overall.
