It is difficult to balance on thin sheets of metal which is what skating consists of, so if I play pond hockey my balance will improve. My hand-eye coordination will also improve as a hockey player stick handles, passes, and skates with puck at their sticks which is directly controlled by their hands. Clearly, pond hockey is a sport worth trying as it improves one's cardiovascular endurance, forces a person to go outside during the winter months, and improves one's balance and coordination. To help push myself to play pond hockey, I have developed a SMART goal. My SMART goal is that once the lakes and ponds freeze over, I want to play a pickup game of pond hockey once a week. If I can find more pickup games then I will play more than once a week, but one game a week is the minimum. I hope this SMART goal will help me begin to play pond
