While there have been much bigger problems women have faced, such as suffrage, lack of jobs, unfair pay, having a heightened cost of living causes inequality none the less. Having to constantly pay more than men really starts to take a toll on a women’s bank account. When it comes to a family with many girls it can start to add up fast, and why are these families at a disadvantage over families that have many boys? This gap in the cost of living becomes a bigger problem when pay is taken in to account. The biggest issue that arises when considering pink tax is the fact that women are being payed $.79 for every $1.00 men make. Women are being payed lower wages, and charged higher prices. This is oppression. If you believe men and women are equal in the 21st century, you are unfortunately mistaken. When it comes to money women still fall far behind men in many aspects. Since many of these products cannot just be boycotted, male and female need to come together to form a stop to these unnecessarily overpriced products.
