One reason that you should not join Columbus’s crew because it is hard work and none of the three jobs available are easy. For example, being one of the youngest working man on the ship like I was, you have to work as a page, “Pages kept track of everyone’s watch duty and did the work nobody else wanted to do” (Page 3). However, It’s not worth the experience since you’re treated with not much respect and you will not get rich and famous from this since Columbus did not discover the gold. There is also a possible chance that you could not make it back to this country alive from getting lost out to sea. So, based on what I have told you, it wouldn’t be a good Idea to go on Christopher Columbus’s voyage. Remember, that even if you’re a young page, you still have to work a hard job, and you will not find fame and fortune from this voyage with Columbus. Going on Christopher Columbus’s voyage will not be worth it since it’s very hard to put in all of those hours on the ship and end up not finding gold in the end.
