As frustrating as the situation may have been I knew that I had to accept the situation and move onto new opportunities so as not to waste my time on something that I could not control. I planned to spend the day exploring Vegas and decided that I would check out the dinner later that evening even if I was not allowed inside. Even though it was likely I would not be allowed inside to see the dinner I rationalized that if there was any way to meet some of the chefs and establish connections it would be well worthwhile. As the time came for the dinner I walked around the venue which had been blocked off entirely and the presence of police only further deterred me from trying. I decided to wait outside hoping that I would see someone I knew going into the venue as otherwise, it was a lost cause. I clearly remember seeing Thomas Keller emerge from one of the doors, a celebrated revolutionary American chef holding a total of 6 Michelin stars who had long been an idol of mine. I had never met him in real life and I was torn between approaching him when he was visibly preoccupied with other matters or be respectful and lose my chance. I approached him despite the fear and hesitation that filled my mind as I knew that it was a moment where I needed to take action and deal with any repercussions later. When I worked up the courage to speak up I was met with a friendly response as he switched his attention to talk to me. I was able to explain the situation and the legal challenges that had come up last minute and he was sympathetic to the situation. He then invited me to enter the event as one of his “guests” to stand in the kitchen and watch. I was amazed by the humbleness of one of the world's greatest chefs and this opportunity was something beyond what I ever could have foreseen happening. Upon entering the kitchen I was
