The book Unbroken was published on November 16, 2010 by Laura Hillenbrand. From the beginning, of his life Louie Zamperini was never a good child. Louie ran in the 1940 Olympics. During World War Two, Louie survived in harsh conditions. After Louie got saved he became a public preacher. Three people significantly influenced Louie Zamperini.
Pete influenced Louie’s life before the war. Without Pete, Louie’s life would have been a big wreck. Pete taught Louie to run. Louie was lucky because he had a rare biological disorder, hips that rolled as he ran. Louie stopped smoking to expand his lung capacity. Louie ran 1940 Olympics and got 9th place.

Louis Zamperini was about to near the final lap of his very first 5,000 meter run at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Although Zamperini finished eighth, he had run the 5,000 meter faster than any other American runner at the 1936 Olympics.
