Peter lived with his mom and dad, with no siblings. Peter lived a completely normal life with his family as a German kid. He was always fascinated with the Nazis and wanted to be a soldier when he grew up. He and his family have always traveled around Europe. Later, they moved to Belgium to escape the Nazis, and they believed they were safe. War broke out in Belgium, as the Germans attacked them, so Peter and his family fled again. Peter Feigl is a hero because of how many lives he helped. He tells everyone in the world about his story, which helps raise awareness of the Holocaust. He has had such an impact on people. They also ate bread, but not normal bread. The bread was very hard and not very good. Peter and his family were eventually released from the camp. Peter and his mother were eventually released from the concentration camps. They did not have anywhere specific to go, so they and the driver just drove straight north, with no destination. Peter and his mother eventually were reunited with Peter’s father, but he was in very bad, unhealthy shape. Peter went to a summer camp and was very excited. His dad came up to him on a bike, handed him a pouch, and left. Peter had a horrible feeling that he was not going to see his father again. Peter’s parents, it turns out, were both arrested. Peter was chosen to go to the U.S., which never happened, so he stayed in France. Peter was never reunited with his family, but he continued to live happily after that. It is extremely important to remember the Holocaust and make sure that everyone knows about it because it was such a horrifying event. The Holocaust was something that nobody ever wants to experience again, and it is important that people understand how horrible it was, so history does not repeat
