He is a surviving recipient of America's highest award The Medal of Honor He received the award for his actions on April 1, 1970 Peters rank was ‘Sergeant’ he was in unit Company E, 2d Battalion, 8th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division. He won medals such as Medal of Honor, two Bronze Star Medals, two Air Medals, Army Commendation Medal, and Purple Heart. Lemon is a father of 3 children he works as a professional speaker and volunteers his free time to schools, veteran groups and many other organizations.
