Petsmart Incident

On the above date and time, while on uniformed patrol in a marked unit, I OFC Gwinn responded to a Domestic Call at Petsmart(11132 Abercorn St) however the incident took place at the above location . I activated my BWC immediately after exiting the vehicle.

Upon arrival, I made contact with Ms. Harlie Griffin who stated that she was assaulted at home this morning by her mother (Ms.Humphreys). Ms. Griffin stated that she woke up to her mother saying " do you want to where the hostility starts." Ms. Griffin state that her mother grabbed her by the hair and started beating her while she had no clothes on. Ms. Griffin stated that her mother left the room but then returned after she had clothes on while trying to pack her stuff. Ms. Griffin started that her mother comes back into the room grabs her hair slams her onto the ground and starts hitting her in the face and throat. Ms. Griffin stated that while getting hit she looks up and see Ms. Humphreys boyfriend(Mr. Knight) and her 14 year sister stand over top of her. Ms. Griffin stated that she heard her sister say " why are you doing this" and "what's going on." Ms. Griffin stated that why she run away to California when she was 14 years old. Jo ann Humphreys who stated she and her daughter got into a verbal argument this morning. Ms. Humphreys stated that her daughter had been staying with them for the last 11 days. Ms. Humphreys stated that she woke them up and told them to go look for job because she wasn't going to support them. Ms. Humphreys stated that they had words and she told her that she had to go "get out." Ms. Humphreys stated that they had arguing then the daughter had words and even her daughter boyfriend chimed then she went out back to smoke a cigarette while they back their bags.
