BRIEF SYNOPSIS
ALEXANDRA KELLY, a 13-year-old precious girl sees her life change after she finds her alcoholic mother passed out and her father is suing for full custody. When her mother, GRACE, enters an inpatient rehab facility, Alex isn’t given any choice but to live her estranged father, WILLIAM KELLY.

They share nice chemistry. Focus on this a bit more. For example, the idea of her being afraid of public speaking is set up in the first act and this works well to show her character transformation. However, one actually needs to see her transformation.

She has a long discussion with Haku and then at the very end of the scene he tells her that he’s going to help her with public speaking, but it’s never shown. It’s important to show it. She needs to fail and then try again. Don’t tell the story, but rather show it.
This is the type of story in which Alex needs to also convince the town to get behind her crusade. Elevate the inspirational feeling of the storytelling. Maybe they eventually all show up in the courtroom to support Alex. Maybe they stage a protest.
At the same time, the bond between father and daughter needs to be more effectively developed. One sees them beginning to bond, but it’s not enough. In addition, they begin to bond, but at court the father seems rather cold and aloof again.
Thus, after the father learns about Alex’s battle in court, find ways that he can help her go up against the judge. Use his skills as a businessman to help
