To measure the effects of control, crowded, lamp light, fertilizer, seed depth, and x2 water, on the growth of Phaseolus Vulgaris plants.
Materials:
Fertilizer
60 15 cm pots
70 Phaseolus Vulgaris seeds
Water
6 watering jug
50 ml beakers
Lamp/ light bulb
Paper towel
Methods:
First, paper towel was put in the bottom of each pot, lining in the base, so that it covered the holes in the bottom of the pot. Then, soil was added to each pot, enough to fill the pot up to the rim. Next, one seed was placed in each pot. Each seed was placed into the soil by using an end of a pencil, pushing each seed approximately 2 cm deep. Each pot was watered with 30 ml of water, then poured upon the soil using a specific watering technique. These steps were repeated with the addition of __cm of fertilizer mixed in with the soil. These steps were repeated with the addition of lamp light shining on the pots instead of natural light. These steps were repeated, but altered by placing two seeds in each pot instead of one. These steps were repeated, but altered by the seeds being pushed in the soil 4 cm deep instead of 2 cm deep. These steps were repeated with the addition of 30 ml more of water, giving each pot 60 ml of water …show more content…
The lamp light group was the only treatment group that had no significant effect from the control group. This group stayed in the +/-10% rule range of the control group, being 9.86 cm (0.8 cm lower than the control group average). The fertilizer group was a significant effect, being 4.25 cm lower than the control group average, with a height of 6.41 cm. The crowded group also had a significant effect, being 4.595 cm lower than the control group with a height of 6.065 cm. The X2 seed depth treatment group also had a significant effect, with an average of 5.65 cm, and a difference of 5.01 cm lower than the control
