God takes away our dream He’s given us to ask us if the dream was more important to us than Him. Just as Mr.Vischer said that he had to wrestle with this, I found myself wrestling with this concept as well. In the past when God has asked “What’s more important, Bethany, the dream or me?” I know for a fact that I haven’t always answered correctly.
This humbling message doesn’t seem like a very happy ending note, but that’s okay because Qwerty hadn’t yet sung the “What Have We Learned?” song. Mr. Vischer shared Ephesians 2:10, revealing that we don’t have to create a dream of the work we’re going to do for God. That’s not up to us; God has already prepared the works He wants us to do. All we have to do is listen for His call, and obey Him. Spiritual Emphasis week brought many passionate, gifted speakers to our campus. Of these speakers, I learned the most from Mr. Vischer and his talks about trusting God, not only when He takes our dreams away from us, but also when we’re waiting on His call to do the missions He’s prepared for us. I know that I have been very blessed this week and can’t wait to see what works God has prepared for me. Until I know what those works are, I’ll remember that God made me special and he loves me very
