Tony for Tangled: Hometown Star Wins Tony Award Phoebe Dellenbaugh, a Broadway star, born and raised in Bethlehem, has received a Tony award. She is on Broadway in the original Broadway cast of Tangled the Musical as Rapunzel. Phoebe was a very determined girl, she had always dreamed of attending college for theatre, but she was afraid that she wouldn’t be able to succeed. Dellenbaugh was in school getting a second degree when she got the news that she had won the role of Rapunzel. Dellenbaugh stayed in school during rehearsals and the moments leading up to the opening of the performance and through the performance, leading her to have two degrees, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater as well as an EdS degree for special education. Dellenbaugh is always described as someone who could always be depended on, especially by her friends. She will always be there for you. Phoebe’s favourite subject in school was music, which isn’t a surprise, but she also loved learning about history. Learning about other people’s experiences at these events. She especially enjoyed learning about World War Two. People like to say that she is an extremely empathetic person, you might like to say that she is Bethlehem’s own Town Hero. She showed that dreams really do come true sometimes. As a teacher in the school district quoted “If a student needs a role model, they should look up to Phoebe” Phoebe Dellenbaugh is an inspiration to all future generations, she wants everyone to know that you can do it. As quoted in her acceptance speech. “Here’s what I want in the world, I want all of you to stop saying I can’t and instead say, I'll try. You have what it takes, you just need to unlock your potential. And you need to unlock the you that you can be inside, People don’t need to be afraid to be themselves, because if you live your whole life being afraid, when are you ever going to get the chance to take a break from keeping the mask on
