The hip joint and various other joints play a role in full capacity movement. If Joints and muscles are warmed up properly, results of different components will improve.

Agonist muscle for extension at the hip : Gluteus Maximus.
Agonist for hip flexion: Hip flexors.
B) Flexibility varies between individuals, particularly in terms of differences in muscle, length of multi-joint muscles, muscles, tendons, joints and ligaments, characteristic variations such as weight, height and gender can effect flexibiltity. The somatotype of an individual can effect how flexible one is. Endomorphs with extra bulk have limited flexibility.
Gender- hormonal differences, females are generally more flexible than men.
Age- The older you are the bigger the decrease in flexibility.
Warming up- Warming up routines can increase the temperature of the muscle and structures within the joint which increases flexibility
