This time was different for Pendleton; we were going at 1:30 instead of 5:30 because there were supposed to be CEO’s and the Attorney General of Indiana, who were going to be visiting. Maddie drove us this time, and we had no problems getting there. We arrived just a little after 1 p.m. and there was some of our classmates already there. We all just waited in the parking lot until we all arrived. We waited outside for a few minutes with Dr. Garcia, and she told us how proud she was of us on doing so well on her tests. She was a little confused on how the other TLC class did worse than us, even though most of both classes went to white board wars. His speech basically summed up, Picking Cotton, the book we are required to read for Dr. Garcia’s class. The main character, Jennifer picked Ronald as her rapist because his face was the closest to the sketch, plus, she picked him out of the suspect book, so she already was familiarized with his face. She wanted to believe that he was her rapist so she could move on and not be in fear of her life. During his speech, he started to get emotional and I almost cried because he was so good, and I felt like he was trying to convince us that he was innocent. I don’t know how he could deal with being in prison for over a decade because I feel like I would struggle a lot. Another one I remembered only because of the time, was 15+ minutes long. After a few speeches, we did Table Topics. Table Topics is where you are asked a random question and you have 1-2 minutes to answer it. Thankfully, I didn’t get picked even though my hand was up. After a while, they just picked on people who wanted to speak, but some people volunteered other people who don’t talk very much to do it, such as: Tiffany, Alexis, and some of the new members who have
