Pieter Cornelis Piet Mondriaan , who also know Piet Mondrian. He was a Dutch painter who born in Amersfoot, Netherlands 7th march 1872. One of the founders of De Stijl movement. In this year his works also has a dramatic changes, because the introducing of French Post Impressionists from Jan Toorop who is a leading artist of Dutch Luminism. With his connection his father persuaded them to pay for his son’s study. Mondrian enroll in the Art Academy to expressed his father’s wish, received a formal education in art. Mondrian moved to Amsterdam entered the Art Academy at 1892. He did his first career as a teacher in primary education, while he also practiced painting. In this period most of his work is Naturalistic or also called impressionistic which is his work is largely of landscapes. At first in the Dutch impressionist manner of Hague School then his works become a variety of styles technique that attest to his search for personal style, that’s mean his paintings is represent his self. Its representational and illustrate the influence of the movement of various artistic that’s popular at that time. Including pointillism and the vivid color of Fauvism. In 190, he started to emphasize 3 primary color to his painting, and also his painting showing a degree of abstraction. In this year, he also became interested in the theosophical movement. Mondrian joined Theosophical society. Because of his interesting, his artworks became related to his spiritual and philosophical study. And his later work became search for simplification of influencing of the 1911 Moderne Kunstkring exhibition of Cubism in Amsterdam. In 1911, he moved to Paris until 1914. In Paris Mondrian visit the exhibition of George Baroque. He get the influence of cubism from Picasso and Baroque. Cubism and the bold immediately appear on his work. The sea is one of his work that contain cubism and his various studied of trees that contain representation and dominated by geometric shapes and interlocking planes. Mondrian was eager to absorb cubism into his work. He thought that cubism is like a port of call on his artistic
