Piggy is the most important character out of the novel in my opinion because without him, ralph would have never had known that if he blew the conch, the kids would all join together to form a meeting, without Piggy, ralph would have never became chief.
Without Piggy or (to specify) his glasses, how would they ever even come close to making a fire to signal boats and or planes. Also, Piggy always tries to make Ralph look at things from a good point of view, like when Simon died, Ralph insisted that it was murder but Piggy kept saying it was an accident and that it was not their fault anyway because they were outside of the circle when the “dance” happened.
