To determine the preferred diet of a pill bug, we gathered 10 samples from the tank located in Dunn Hall on the SUNY Potsdam campus. Each pill bug was placed into an individual petri dish was a moist filtered paper. There were two treatments containing five pill bugs in each. The first treatment was given rotten meat and the second was given rotten crushed cranberries. The rotten meat was taken from the student Union. For a 9-day period, a lab partner would check on the pill bugs and record the amount of pellets produced. If a pill bug had died, it would be recorded and then we would start over the experiment to gather more data. The pill bugs were feed 3 grams of rotten fruit or meat daily.
