Movies are something that everyone enjoys watching from time to time. A movie can be imaginative and powerful depending on the genre. In order to make a good movie you have to have a genre. Ever since film has started it has always had many different genres. There's romance, horror, science fiction, fantasy, comedy, and Pixar. Even though there are hundreds of different genres to categorize films, those six in particular were looked at. This was to see the domestic gross over the first four weeks it was shown in the theater.
According to the data collected one of the main movie genres is Pixar. For Pixar the movie that had the lowest gross was Toy Story. Toys Story’s lowest gross was $191,796,233 and the film for the highest gross was Finding …show more content…
Fantasy allows a person to just imagine and fantasize; it gives you the opportunity to get lost in your own thoughts. Watching a movie with fantasy helps you escape everything and everyone around you. Fantasy takes people away from the real world, no one really likes being in the real world. Science fiction and fantasy movies can literally take you anywhere and anytime with no limitations. With sci- fi is not like any other genre they all have limitations where this genre does not, it is a chance for the director to explore their mind. The most joyful thing about science fiction movies is that it immediately taps into our child side. As a person gets older it becomes harder to play around and act silly. I think this is because once you’ve seen one romance movie you have seen them all. Romance happens the same way every time. The two people fall in love, have some trouble in the middle but always work it out to be together. For people, they like to watch films to escape reality or watch reality. For every romance story to end up a happy story every time is annoying and disappointing. It makes people think that is how love truly is. In life not every love story has a good ending, not everyone stays in the relationship. Not everyone who falls in love stays together. Not to mention romance is seen to be a genre for mainly females. People think films with romance in it have to be chick flicks. Males are not big on romance movies because they tend to be too touchy and emotional. Men are known and taught to show no emotion. They rather watch films about things blowing up or fighting movies, not love. Most times, if a male watches a romance movie they are with a female friend or family member. Romance does not do that well because it only appeals to a specific group. The plus side of romance films is that it makes a lot of people feel happy. Watching a love story you cannot help but to feel warm and fuzzy inside. The love story will melt your heart.
