When people are sick, they begin to recover right when they receive medication, but even before the treatment could possibly begin working the patient already feel better even if the treatment is not real. The placebo effect occurs when a patient will feel better even though the medicine that they were given was just a sugar pill or cold cream. I believe that the placebo effect is a reasoning mistake because when a patient gets treatment that is supposed to heal them, the patient believes that it will. So if the patient doesn’t know that the treatment is fake then they will still think that they feel better because they believe that they got the correct treatment and not the fake one.
