Even though the Allegory was written thousands of year ago, it is still relevant to modern society. The question asked by Plato in the allegory is, whether or not I want to remain in my comfort zone or be free from captivity? Since I was a child I was persuaded to hear everything said on the media to be true. The cave in my life symbolizes the politicians, advertisements, religion, technology and anything which restricts me from the truth. What is behind all of this? I am the prisoner who is not willing to question what I hear or see in the media. This is what society has engraved in me.
