Program Description: Play It Safe! is a victim focused primary prevention program that educates children and adolescents about the various ways of recognizing, resisting, and reporting sexual and physical assault. The program is designed for ages 4-18 years old and offers grade appropriate material through a one hour classroom presentation. Program Analysis When considering Bloom's six dimensions of Configural Equation for Primary Prevention Practice, the Play It Safe! programming addresses several aspects of the first four dimensions (Bloom, 1996). Since the organization offers a brief educational presentation with identifiable skills and resources, the program increases individual strength and social support and decreases individual limitations and social stresses. Play It Safe! - Play It Safe! is a primary prevention program dedicated to reducing the occurrence and continuation of childhood sexual and physical abuse. Currently, the Play It Safe! The program’s target population is children and adolescents 4-18 years of age who reside in North Texas - specifically Tarrant and Jefferson counties. By educating children and adolescents about how to safely recognize, respond to and report physical and sexual abuse, the program is creating personal change.
