Perhaps all professional poker players’ favourite topic of debate is whether poker is a game of skill or mere chance. This is perhaps owing to the fact that investing money as a wager (read: gambling) is prohibited by several state laws. And most players whether poker pros or simple beginner rookies would swear by the book stating poker is a game of skill.
But then again what is life if not a game of chance?!
However, when it comes to poker, it happens to be a grey area as there is no straight answer to this hotly debated question. From a spectator’s viewpoint, the chance factor can be best explained with the fact that the cards are distributed randomly and everybody’s hand of cards is a matter of pure chance.
