In the article "An Inside View of Police Offenders' Experience with Domestic Violence," there are a couple of things that lead to officers feeling ineffective. Police officers feel that they are well prepared, trained and know what to do when they get a DV call, but it's what happens after they've done their protocol that makes them feel ineffective. Officers from the study taken, express frustration towards the victims because after they've gone through proper procedures the victims do not always follow through with going to court. This results in the officers going back to the same house, arresting the same perpetrator because he got released again and repeating the endless cycle. Some officers become emotionally detached due to the lack
