Obama said that if we liked our health care plan, we could keep it, but we all know that never happened. Instead, when he approved the Affordable Care Act it ended up switching everyone's plan. This is an example of how politicians say things that make people believe that there will be a change for the better, so they can be elected or be reelected and stay in office. I think this is incorrect and counts as a type of corruption because it is misleading the United States citizens to believe a lie that is expected to be true. The examples above, like Sheldon Silver show that even though he was one of the best in New York he still ended up receiving close to $5 million in bribes and now he is paying the price. Another great example would be Obama and how he did not keep his word in saying if we like our medical care plan we could keep it and although this seems minor I still view this as corruption for not being sincere with the people who elected him as president of the United States. Furthermore, leading me to wonder how we can leave the fate of our country in the hands of corrupt politicians who make poor decisions that only thinking of themselves.
