If you had the chance to change someone’s life for the greater would you take it . This essay will discuss why Ponyboy should be put in the system instead of living with his brother Darry. While Ponyboy lives with Darry he smokes more than a pack a day, eats very unhealthy, and is living in an unstable environment. If Ponyboy was put into the system he would be well taken care of and living someplace safe. While Ponyboy lives with his brother his life is put at risk more often. Ponyboy would be a lot safer in the system and have a healthier life The core concept of this is to confirm that Ponyboy’s well being would be more secure in the system than with Darry in a dangerous environment. “Our front door is always unlocked in case one of the boys is hacked off at his parents and needs a place to stay.” This proves that Darry is fine at putting his kid brothers at the risk of being harmed. “All three of us like chocolate cake for breakfast. Mom never allowed, it will ham and eggs , but Darry let me and soda, talk him into it.” This quote shows how not only Ponyboy but his brothers too eat an unhealthy breakfast which is chocolate cake every day. Darry can’t control Ponyboy’s unhealthy eating habit because he allows it and supports it. “You were in no condition for a rumble.
