On the same day of the incident, Ms. Poquette admitted into Texas Health Presbyterian-Dallas, where she was seen by physician, Dr. Ted Carelock, MD. There she complained of chronic lower back pain, neck pain, leg pain/numbness and extreme headaches. Ms. Poquette was diagnosed with muscle strains, a cervical sprain and a lumbar spine strain. Dr. Carelock prescribed Acetaminophen-Codeine, a strong dose that treats severe pain. Dr. Carelock also prescribed Diazepam to help reduce anxiety and pain caused by muscle spasms. The next day, she returned immediately with a massive headache. A CT Scan was performed on Ms. Poquette and she was diagnosed with concussion; a direct trauma to the head that can interfere with the brain function and may cause you to pass out. Poquette suffered from several mental disorders that immediately became worse after the accident. As a result, Ms. Poquette sought additional help and admitted to Donna Kirby Counseling. During her visit, Ms. Poquette’s sensorium was oriented to a situation that had occurred in Ms. Poquette’s life, which was the accident. Ms. Poquette informed her counselor about her feelings on being depressed/sad and feeling worthless. Counselor Kirby expressed the importance of being able to expresses her feelings and allowing her brain to heal from her accident so, she scheduled her for appointments once a week for two months.

Ms. Poquette continued to experience massive headaches therefore, she admitted to Texas Health Presbyterian-Plano on July 30, 2016 for concussion management. Dr. Barwari treated Ms. Poquette and performed several tests based on the symptoms she indicated. The CT’s and tests that were performed on Ms. Poquette returned positive for blurred vision, nausea and headaches. Dr. Barwari prescribed Elavil to help her sleep and recommended that Ms. Poquette take the next week off from work to rest, sleep and avoid any screen
