The organization I elected to go to for year 10 work experience was Port Lincoln Dental Clinic.
How did you go about organizing work experience?
The first step was to select 3 possible workplaces in order of most desired to least. The available workplace closest to the top of my list was then contacted. Paperwork was filled out by multiple parties, including the workplace, myself, and Miss Evans the coordinating teacher. This informed me what their expectations were of me, such as dress code and working hours, and what activities I was expected to do while on work experience.
What work tasks did you undertake?

This made it a lot harder to learn and absorb information, as it was hard to stay focused because I learn best through actually doing things rather than observing them.
How important was communication to your work place? Give examples.
Communication was vital in my workplace, especially between patients and dentists, as if the dentists didn’t ask questions and take notes about the patients possible allergies/current medication/current dental issues, they could be held accountable if there was a problem. There was lots of communication between dentists and their assistants which was important, so that the procedures could run smoothly. I also needed to communicate with others so that I knew where to be at a particular time and what I could do.
What aspects of work experience did you find challenging?
Having to sit and watch without doing much was very challenging because it was so boring. I also found very difficult to watch simple tasks and not be able to help as I thought I was capable, but not allowed. It wasn’t a requirement, but I also watched some procedures that were quit
