POSITION TITLE:Business Development & Sales Manager | BASIS OF EMPLOYMENT: | DATE:January 2012 | POSITION REPORTS TO:Australia Country Manager | POSITION(S) REPORTING TO SAME MANAGER:Finance ControllerOperations Manager Competency Development MgrWA State ManagerInventory Controller | POSITION(S) REPORTING TO THIS ONE:Applications/Sales Engineers | POSITION STATEMENT: * Reporting to the Country Manager, managing a small engineering sales team and working closely with intercompany engineering groups, your role is to understand the company’s product and service capabilities and communicate these effectively to our customer base. You will define our current and potential customers, their project opportunities markets and market drivers which will determine our key areas of focus throughout Australia, New Zealand and PNG. From this competitive market knowledge you will develop a strategic business development plan which will be used to facilitate growth in a growing, dynamic industry. * Maintain a high level of QHSE awareness and encourage participation among all employees in the assessment of risks & monitoring the progress of HSE performance | PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: * Maintain a high level of QHSE awareness and encourage participation among your fellow employees in the assessment of risks & monitoring the progress of HSE performance. Immediately report all Health, Safety and Environmental incidents to your manager. * Complete assigned QHSE and competency based modules in the company’s on-line training program, TRACCESS. * Promote safety and environmental responsibility as a culture by ensuring that all employees understand and adhere to policies and practices and that an incident target of zero is achieved and maintained. * Manage the Business Development, Marketing and Sales as well as the contract negotiation processes for surface production equipment and all services * You must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines * It is viewed as critical that you engage the support of applications and fabrication engineering staff * Develop market knowledge and our strategies for current and especially future customers * Develop market knowledge of our competitors and their capabilities * Facilitate additional resources (internal or external) as required to insure a quality response to either our own or our customers’ demands * Ensure budgets for your area are developed reflecting realistic goals and that targets are met * Maintain and promote a high profile for Exterran with current and potential customers across the country * Identify new opportunities for Exterran making sure these are evaluated and acted on * Ensure all contracts, terms and conditions are reviewed with the Country Manager * Ensure all correspondence and documentation is filed systematically on the server * Assist with the identification of continuous improvement opportunities and actively participate in the development and implementation of solutions. * Represent the company in a professional manner at all times. | FREEDOM TO ACT: * Travel to customer locations * Accept and submit bids in co-ordination with Management & fabrication facilities | KEY CHALLENGES: * Act as a mentor to increase the competence of your direct reports and allow them the direct customer project contacts * Create persuasive customer business development strategies * Development of knowledge and relationships with key intercompany departments * Develop competitive market intelligence * Develop & maintain close customer and vendor relationships * Contract review and management of negotiations to a deadline * Monthly project revenue forecasts | KEY RELATIONSHIPS /
