The Delaware nation has a pow wow at the end of May. This pow wow is located in Copan, Oklahoma. In an isolated location, nestled between fields, lies a ground that holds pow wows. The grounds are rich with grass and have bleachers that line the outside of the center part, where the dancers perform. The festivities span three days. A number of different tribes and other people attended. Tents are set around the grounds, where the pow wow takes place. Camps and sites have been established for a long period of time. A competition is about to begin.The competition consists of a small number of dancers with similar regalia. The dancers are all draped in beaded outfits. The outfits are unique to every dancer and carry history with every bead placed on their attire. Different colors correspond to the beadwork. Vibrant colors adorn the grounds where the dancing begins. Hair is different based on every dancer and their needs. One or more feathers at the crown of their heads are sturdy and unwavering. On their braids, lies animal skin unique to every dancer. Coving the dancer is a shawl with colors and beadwork to match their wear. Fringe aligns the bottom of the shawl. From their heads to their feet, every piece of clothing and adornment provides a purpose. Every piece is embellished with gorgeous beadwork, fabrics, and a deep history that spans an extended time.
