Parents believe that giving their child a prescription medication can easily cure the issue. What parents don’t often realise is the drug treatment option often causes more issues to arise with the child or teen. Some issues that can occur are stomach ulcers, and acid reflux from the anti-inflammatory. In time the body can be dependant of painkillers therefore the issue of drug addiction becomes prominent. Children and teens are able to use alternative treatments to reduce risk of drug addiction. Alternative treatments are various options beside oral medication, it can also become a lifestyle change. Side effects of drug treatment options include stomach ulcers, kidney issues and liver damage from prolonged use of anti-inflammatory. A breakdown of how the damage is inflicted to the body can be easily explained. The anti-inflammatory is dissolved in the stomach by acids. Not all of the medication is used in treatment, most anti-inflammatory ingredients are too harsh on the stomach. With digestion of the ingredients the stomach lining is irritated leaving the acids to strip away the mucus from the lining, therefore leaving a small gap to burn into the inner liner. Not only is the medication harmful to the stomach is is also harmful to the liver and kidneys because the body sees the drug as a toxin therefore the medication is filtered as if it is a toxin. Only small amounts of the dose is actually properly used to treat the injury and prevent inflammation. Drug addiction does become common even with low dose narcotics for immense pain. How drug addiction occur is easy with in the body. When taking narcotics the human body becomes addicted to the relief of pain and high of the medication.
