Viewing “SLOTH” as Newhauser, legalism will overrun a person’s life and hinder their relationship with God, just as much as the vice does itself. It is a counter to a counter, which is still preventing love, be it oneself or someone else. Douglas Stenstrom, author of Pride, Sloth/Lust/Gluttony, Envy, Greed/Wrath: Rating the Seven Deadly Sins, attempts to see which, out of the seven deadly sins, is worse by taking poles and anylizing data to get his conclussion. Nonetheless, all the poles were relative with a conclussion that all of mankind is extrememly sinful, with limited groups or sexes leaning toward one or the other.
