In The Princess Bride, the character named Fezzik faces physical conflict and personal conflict, yet he has the courage to face challenges that he comes upon in his life. In his younger life, he was bullied and was encouraged to discourage his classmates who did so. Fezzik, despite not wanting to fight others, did as was told as him. He has been in love with Princess Buttercup for a long time, and eventually she realizes she loves him. Once she confesses her undying love for him, he tells her he is going to America so they can have them live a happy life together once he is back. This is courageous of Westley because he does it out of love for Buttercup, even though he does not want to leave her. Westley is captured by Prince Humperdink and is put in a torture machine, with every level sucking away so many years of his life. Westley shows how brave he can be here, as he puts up with it, making it so the only thing on his mind is Buttercup, his true love, even until his death. Once Fezzik and Inigo retrieve Westley and revive him, the only thing he can think about is saving Buttercup, even though he can barely move. Luckily he is brave enough to get Prince Humperdink to back down and rescues Buttercup. If Westley was not courageous enough in all of these scenarios, he would not have continued on with his life and would not have been able to save his true
