The National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) recommends to conduct research based on the following major priorities: build the scientific foundation for clinical practice, prevent disease and disability, manage and eliminate symptoms caused by illness, and improve palliative and end-of-life care (NINR, 2012). I think it is important that the NINR research emphasis supports clinical research and research training on health and illness across the lifespan. I agree with the priorities of NINR and think that they set up nursing research in the right direction, including all aspects of health management from the disease prevention to optimal health support after the disease was acquired.
