Privatizing the parole and probation services concerns which services should the government outsource and how should the government outline the privatization. Upon your request to devise different ways in which parole and probation services might be privatized, this memorandum outlines the following options:

 Partially privatize the service of the Division of Parole and Probation (DPP) based on the risk of the demeanor with regulations
 Divide the DPP into specific functions and privatize specific functions of the services of the probation and parole

PRIVATIZE THE SERVICE WITH REGULATION:

One ways to privatize the probation and parole service is to privatize the overall service of the division based on the level of the risk demeanor. While the DPP is still supervising and working with the high-risk offenders, the private sectors take the first-time and low-risk offenders, and supervise, investigate, and collect fees on behalf of the DPP.

Advantage: Efficient Allocation of Agents and Productivity
The first-time or low-risk offenders mean less threat on the society and thus give more level of freedom. If the DPP privatize the service based on the level of the risk, the agency could better allocate their agents on the high-risk offenders whom require more attention than the low-risk offenders, while the …show more content…

Ultimately, these firms or organizations have more incentive to do on their own, such as asking for higher probation fees than the actual market price. This will put more burdens on the low-income people with low-risk demeanor who are less able to afford the extra probation
