Smile, Say Cheese! Do you remember hearing this as a child, rather it was at school, with family and friends, at a event, or even at a photography studio. I’m a up and coming photographer in the Greater Houston Area and I will be explaining the process of a professional photography session. Theirs three main steps to preparing for photos, first you must locate the proper photographer for a consultations, have the actual photo session, and finally the pictures have to be edited, retouched, and adjusted for High End Quality. First, when locating a photographer you need to know what type of photo shoot you want. Some photographer only specialize in certain types of photography, for example a lot of photographers only photograph weddings, parties and other big events. Others only photograph live action and/or sporting events, while on the other hand some only do photo journalism. Once you’ve found the photographer that specialize in your specific needs, you will need to set-up your date of consultation. The consultation is used for meeting your photographer face to face getting to know who you’re working with , going over the details for your session far as date time and location, viewing photographers portfolios of the different work they’ve done , and making your initial payment to reserve your photo sessions. You can now go and view different locations for a possible outdoor session and contact your photographers with details. Now that you have found your photographer and set up your date and time, you are ready to be photographed. Traditionally most clients prefer to take indoor photos at a professional studio, but a lot of new clients are beginning to request outdoor sessions at their desired destination. While performing your session you would have time to change your outfits, as well as try several different poses. Taking pictures with a photographer vs. going to the mall is totally different, in the mall you’re only going to get three different poses with no do over’s. So if your eyes are closed or your child isn’t paying attention you’re just stuck with those photos. Where as with a professional photographer you have more freedom to try different options far as poses, retaking a bad photo, or repositioning yourself to “Get Your Good Side”. now that you are satisfied with the out come of your sessions, its now time for your photos to be edited.
Have you ever looked at pictures in a magazine and wonder how their skin is so flawless, or how their so trim and fit, or how it looks like a painting more than a photo? This is only professional editing, where the natural picture is transformed into a photo with magazine quality. When editing your photos the entire picture needs to be looked over carefully for removal of
