Event/Act: The Proclamation of 1763 was passed by King George III. It stated that colonists couldn’t cross the appalachian mountains, only traders licensed by the crown could. It also prevented colonists from making any sort of deal(treaties, etc.) with the Native Americans.
Purpose:
This was supposedly to prevent colonists and Native Americans from fighting, though the king likely had another agenda. It probably was signed in order to remain friendly with the Natives, so that the Natives could fight Britain's wars. Not to mention, this provided economic benefit to some of England's ministers, making England hesitant to repeal the proclamation.
Effects:
The Proclamtion of 1763 created lots of problems. Colonists wondered how Britain
