Looking back over the years at the form of discipline in American prisons it was without questions the rough and physical treatment, and not to mention the strapping up until 1966 when that type of punishment was outlawed (Siegel, L., 2014). We are thankful today that the correctional system has been fine-tuned in professionalism which mean a set of strengths and personal values for adding the best quality of service to others in any line of work or organization (Siegel, L., 2014). However, both employee and employer must acknowledge that these new and better characteristics will take a while and not come overnight (Siegel, L., 2014). One of the advantages of staff training is that it make certain of an orderly way to do the job (Siegel, L., 2014). Staff training was one of the most important momentums toward professionalism of American corrections (Siegel, L., 2014). The corrections of staff equally enable them to have a better attitude and composer which help them to (Siegel, L. and Bartollas, C. 2014).
Corrections staff and all in correctional management need professional training because they are all confronted with different problems and different personalities at any given time (Siegel, L., 2014). The correctional training can also help them in areas of keeping calm and have the strength to manage self-control regardless of the situations taking place around them.
