The theory I believe bests supports interdisciplinary instruction in Progressive Reform. Progressive reform has roots in Learner Centered Ideology which believes the ideal school takes an interdisciplinary approach to learning (Schiro, M.S., 2013). Student are encouraged to collaborate, thereby expressing their different perceptions on subjects based on their prior knowledge and past experiences. This method of teaching can be applied to all content areas (Weiler, K., 2004).
