During the eight sessions, there will be a series of lectures explaining the dangers of lead, to include potential health effects. During session three there will be testimony from a parent of a child that had lead poisoning. A health educator will discuss prevention methods and ways that lead may enter your home, as well as what behaviors both child and parent may need to change. During the session two and six, parents/guardians will be given the opportunity to have their children, if eligible, screened for lead poisoning by a healthcare professional. Information will be provided about how to access testing in the community should they decline the screening offered during the sessions.
