George Eastman was a captain of industry because in 1924, he gave $30 million to the University of Rochester, M.I.T., Hampton, and Tuskegee.Eastman also donated to M.I.T., he helped M.I.T. eventually reach $20 million. The dental clinic in Rochester received $2.5 million from George Eastman.The dental clinic is still here today in Rochester. If George Eastman did not donate $2.5 million to the dental clinic, some families wouldn’t be able to have as good teeth as they do because they mostly do not have enough money to go to any other clinics.
