Their inability to think individually, a product of doublethink, inhibits them from pursuing any false pretenses projected by the Party. Nobody has yet to uncover the Ministry of Plenty oversees a shortage of resources, or the Ministry of Truth creates propaganda and alters historical text. The contradictions of this society reach far beyond what the eye can see; even the separation of social classes doesn’t make sense, with 85% of the population monitored very loosely.
