Are scientists pushing us into the future too quickly? It seems like they are trying to take control of our daily lives through technology. If we dont let them test new technology on our society then we will not evolve as a society, but if we do let them test the new and improved ways of thinking then we end up in danger. It leaves us as citizens feeling stuck. Scientists have come a long way with autonomous vehicle technologies, but is it really enough to let them on our heavily populated city streets? And are we supposed to get use to the feeling of unsafety when we are a passenger in these driverless cars? It has completely changed our previous ways of commuting around the city. It has also made the idea of a taxi cab service obsolete. The rideshare idea in general is taking over modern ares. Now that Uber is beginning their autonomous vehicle shuttle service, what does this mean for the city itself? Uber has not been living up to its expectations. When Uber decided to try and test their self driving cars in Tempe Arizona, they petitioned whether the city would allow them to commit to this push into the modern world. It was accepted. Elaine Herzberg, a petitioner for the uber self driving car startup was struck and killed last week by one of the testing vehicles. There are many factors that would attribute to a driverless car accident. Firsts of all, how would the police be able to rule whose fault it is? It's almost impossible. Self driving services have long claimed that they are safer than you typical driver when in reality Uber self driver specialists are said to have been having to do rechecks on their cars ever fourth ride. There goal was ever twelfth ride. They are going to have to make them much safer in order for the citizens of these cities to trust the driverless cars to drive on their streets once again. The one and only up side this whole motion has to it is how convenient it would be being an Uber customer. Just
