Protein

Protein is any of a class of nitrogenous organic compounds that consist of large molecules composed of one or more long chains of amino acids and are an essential part of all living organisms, esp. as structural components of body tissues, and as enzymes and antibodies.

Protein can help you shed those unwanted pounds and keep your belly full. But it's important to eat the right amount and the right kind of protein to get the health benefits.

Types of Protein Supplements
Casein:
Long-duration. Casein can take up to 7 hours to digest, which is great for a long-lasting, steady supply of amino acids.
Not as soluble as whey, and can taste more unpleasant in comparison. Yet it is widely available in shakes and supplements with a variety of flavors.
More expensive compared to whey.
Complete protein.
Not all brands are created equal. The purity of casein matters because this can affect its absorption. Read about how it’s prepared by the manufacturer. For example, micellar casein is often considered the best because the molecule remains relatively unchanged during processing, unlike calcium caseinate, which has been combined with calcium to improve the casein’s solubility in water.
